Crosswell seismic survey is conducted in wells, where a
downhole source and downhole multilevels array with 3 component
geophones are used. The downhole source can be of various polarization
modes and should be of more powerful, broader frequency band
and no destruction on wall of wells. The downhole multi-levels
3-C array can receive more information than con-ventional
sensors . Basically , the dominated frequency of crosswell
seismic data is higher than the dominated frequency of surface
seismic data for several times. The imaging derived from the
data can indicate the geological structure between wells clearly
and can be used for detailing reservoir characterization.
The interpretation based on surface seismic, drilling and
logging data has faced with great challenges as the advance
of exploration
and exploitation, particularly in maturing oil field. Crosswell
seismic technology builds a bridge linking surface seismology
and well logging because of its features (layout, resolution
and measurement length). Therefore, a more detailed reservoir
model can be build in time and spatial domain, which can meet
the needs of geophysicists, geologist and reservoir engineer
for reservoir characterization
